Junaid Jamshed Sues Pepsi For Its Latest Cricket Centered TVC ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’

News has it that former singer, Junaid Jamshed has recently filed a law suit against Pepsi for violating the copy rights of national song ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ and using it in its television commercial without permission.
The lawsuit has been filed for PKR 1 crore. The lawsuit was filed in Sindh High Court on 29th March 2014.
The Dil Maange Abhi, Dil Dil Pakistan ad sees Shahid Shahid Afridi, Umar Gul, Sana Wasim, Waqar Younis, Wasim Akram, Sana Mir, Ahmed Shahzad and actor Ayesha Omar all cheering on for the team and enjoying Pepsi alongside.
Junaid Jamshed as part of the Vital Signs band released the song ‘Dil Dil Pakistan’ in 1987. It was included in the band’s debut album Vital Signs in 1989. BBC World Service international poll also declared the song as one of the ten most famous songs of all time at number 3.
