Jemima Khan posts no-make-up selfie to raise money for charity

Jemima Khan is the latest star to share a ‘no makeup selfie’ on Twitter.

For almost a week now, women have been posting selfies without makeup on social media along with the hash-tag #NoMakeupSelfie, as a way of encouraging their followers to donate to Cancer Research UK and promoting breast cancer awareness.

A number of stars have become involved in the campaign including pop star ‘Corrie’ actresses Michelle Keegan and Helen Flanagan, as well as pop star Cheryl Cole.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan’s former wife and a professional journalist Jemima Khan shared her own ‘no makeup selfie’ with her Twitter followers on Tuesday morning, joking in a tweet that she was “always late to the party”.

She also encouraged others to get involved, retweeting a post from Cancer Research UK which said so far £8 million has been raised by the campaign, which can fund 10 clinical trials.

Following this, she referenced the backlash the #NoMakeupSelfie campaign has received from some critics.

Jemima also took the opportunity while she was on Twitter to silence any rumours that she and boyfriend Russell Brand, who she’s been dating since 2013, had become engaged.

Atif Aslam Shows His Passion For Playing Cricket!

Atif Aslam Shows His Passion For Playing Cricket!

According to Atif, if he wasn’t a singer, he would have been a cricketer.

“My parents didn’t let me play for the under-nineteen cricket team. They wanted me to become an engineer. But I decided to explore myself as a singer. I collected my pocket money to put up my first song on the Internet. The song was Aadat and it became an instant hit. So, I went ahead with it. And now it’s been eight years in this profession.”

Recently he wrote on his Facebook Fan page:

When I was 16, I was selected for Pakistan’s U-19 cricket team as a fast bowler. I was training for the World Cup n my dreams were to represent Pakistan as a cricketer. Life steered me to a career in the performing arts but my love for the sport remains. Today, it’s great to know that another 16 year old boy from India, who made his debut in Pakistan in 1989 (against Imran Khan, Wasim Akram n Waqar, then the fastest bowlers in the world) has 25 years later become the first sportsman to be awarded the highest civilian decoration by his country. It’s about time the legendary artists n sportsmen r honored in the correct manner by their respective nations. Congrats to Sachin Tendulkar on an exemplary career!
