The B-town actress, who recently gave an interview with a leading daily said, “Even before my film was released, people started saying that the Veer heroine looks like so and so. And, the audience is such that they live with what they are fed. People didn’t even give me a chance. I guess the whole comparison with Katrina Kaif affected my career. Katrina is a beautiful person and probably, if I weren’t in the same field as her, I’d be flattered by all the comparisons. I was a newcomer and even before the film actually released, people started criticising me for my weight and acting skills! But they didn’t realise I was asked to put on weight for the film.”
Zarine has had a series of flops since her entry in Bollywood. When she debuted with Veer, she was highly criticised for her weight and the movie sank without a trace. Salman tried to revive her career and offered her an item number, Character Dheela Hai in the film Ready. But that too didn’t make a mark. Even her next film Housefull 2 failed! Since then the actress has been out of work and is now blaming her lookalike Katrina Kaif.

Dubai 2014 fireworks display breaks Guinness world record
DUBAI: Dubai has ushered in 2014 with more than half a million fireworks spectacle, breaking the world record for the largest such display ever, Guinness World records said today.
Ten months in planning, over 500,000 fireworks were used during the display on the New Year’s Eve which lasted around six minutes, with Guinness adjudicators on hand to confirm that a new record had been set.
It was night of epic proportions, and one that will certainly go down in history, as Dubai set a world record amidst all the razzle dazzle and fanfare this city has mastered down to an art form.
While The Palm Jumeirah and The World Islands played host to a glittering display of fireworks that achieved the colossal task of setting off over 400,000 fireworks across 100km of shoreline, in just six minutes to set a new Guinness World Record, at the other end of the city stood the towering Burj Khalifa.
The world’s tallest building impressed with its iconic New Year’s Eve Gala and a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the imposing juggernaut once again.
Hosted by Emaar Properties, this year’s festivities broke 2012’s record of 1.7 million visitors at Downtown Dubai.
The Dubai World Record team have roped in the men and women at Grucci to produce an unimaginable programme for tonight, including a laser etching of an aerial countdown, a pixel burst flying falcon and a UAE flag and a ‘sunrise’ at midnight.

Days after Pakistani actress Veena Malik got married to a businessman in Dubai, her former live-in partner has filed a non-cognisable (NC) complaint against her for threatening him.
Days after Pakistani actress Veena Malik got married to a businessman in Dubai, her former live-in partner has filed a non-cognisable (NC) complaint against her for threatening him. Prashant Pratap Singh, a 36-year-old businessman, filed the NC at Aarey police station on Saturday evening saying she had threatened to file a complaint of rape or molestation against him, if he interfered in her life.
He said that in February 2012, when Malik had come to the city, he had helped her out, and soon, they started living together at Garden View Building in Aarey. Singh added that they were also contemplating marriage. In his complaint, Singh mentioned that he bore all of Malik’s expenses, but she parted ways with him and suddenly got married to someone else in Dubai.
`On December 25, I learnt that Veena had married someone else in Dubai. I called her up but she threatened me. She even called up my mother and threatened her, saying that she would file an FIR against me if I informed her husband of our past.` Singh adds, `I provided her with a mobile, all her documents. I had no option but to file a complaint against Veena.
We were both looking forward to getting married but I had told her that I would only marry her after my divorce proceedings were finalised. I am shocked.` Senior Inspector from Aarey police station Uttar More said, `We have filed a NC complaint against Veena Malik, which was filed by her live-in partner under Section 507 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.`

When MiD DAY contacted Veena, she said, `I’m too busy in my life with my husband and family to threaten people. Prashant is my employee and I pay him Rs 10,000 a month. He works for me so one can only understand the reality of his statements. I have no idea what is his motive. I am happy and my in-laws are happy.`

Armaan Kohli too got a change to get Dabangg and shake with Salman Khan on Desi Beat from Salman’s film Bodyguard.
Best friends Pratyusha Banerjee and Kamya Punjabi too got a chance to perform with the superstar on the hit track Fevicol Se from Dabangg 2.
Kushal Tandon was seen performing with his ladylove Gauahar Khan on Hum Tere Bin Ab Reh Nahi Sakte from the film Aashiqui 2.

The nikkah ceremony was held in Dubai, her International Press Relations Manager Sohail Rashid confirmed. He added that the couple rushed the nikkah as Veena’s mother is unwell.
The actor tweeted an image of the wedding bands shortly after the engagement.
The actor had earlier said she intended to get married in 2015.
“I believe in the institution of marriage. Also, I have seen my family members enjoying a blissful married life. I too would love to belong to the man forever after getting married,” she had stated.
Veena, who was rumoured to have been engaged earlier in the year and had a very public relationship with fellow Big Boss participant Ashmit Patel, had said that she has had her share of breakups and has insecure feelings.
“I have had my share of break ups. It would not be too much to say that I have always ditched men. I am the one who has broken up with all my boy friends.”
Asked about when does the 29 year-old actor plans to settle down, she pointed out 2015 as the potential year when she ties the knot.
“I am keeping my fingers crossed and am all set to tie the knot sometime in 2015. Will it be a Sheikh or someone from Dubai? Well, I am not sure myself but yes I am contemplating to get married to a Muslim. I have been living in Dubai for many years now. So could be someone from Dubai,” she had said.

Her falsifying submitted document for NICOP but there. Her age difference with her sister is really odd as written in the document that she is just 8 weeks elder to her sister is something people can laugh on. That shows a major error in her paperwork. She also added that she ended 18 and eligible for Identity Card. OUCH! When NADRA officers asked Veena to explain this awkward mistake, she didn’t give persuading answer and choose to stay quiet; such an unexpected reaction from a bold lady like her is kinda suspicious.
